It was with sadness Phil and I learned of
Barry's passing but rejoicing that he is with the Lord. I did not personally meet Barry but heard many of his teachings and hold him in great respect - he has served the Lord and the Body of Christ well. I appreciated his wit, humour, non emotional approach to preach Christ. My husband and I will miss him, he is a great loss to the body of Christ and I wish his family Gods peace, presence and hope for the future. Julia and Phil Leigh Wellington NZ.

A SHIP SAILS AND I STAND WATCHING TILL SHE FADES ON THE HORIZON AND SOMEONE AT MY SIDE SAYS ," SHE IS GONE "
GONE WHERE?
GONE FROM MY SIGHT , THAT IS ALL.
SHE IS JUST AS LARGE AS WHEN I SAW HER.
THE DIMINISHED SIZE AND TOTAL LOSS OF SIGHT IS IN ME , NOT IN HER AND JUST AT THE MOMENT WHEN SOMEONE AT MY SIDE SAYS , "SHE IS GONE " THERE ARE OTHERS WHO ARE WATCHING HER COMING AND OTHER VOICES TAKE UP A GLAD SHOUT,
THERE SHE COMES ! SAFE AND HOME AT LAST.

THINKING OF ALL OF YOU .LOVE ANNE AND SANDY.

Brother Barry was not only an inspiration to us as a family but a DEAR FRIEND .. we will SADLY miss him. Barry has shown us so much love over the years & was the BEST EVANGELIST that New Zealand has ever had .. Barry's ministry has touched the world & so many people are in the Kingdom of God due to his Passsion & Love for their souls. He had a wonderful heart of love for people & an incredible sense of humor.
Not only did he bring people to Christ but was one the key persons who called into the Hamilton AOG in 1992 & encouraged me to take my testimony to the world. He also opened up many doors in churches that he had ministered in over the years to enable us to get started in the ministry.
He was a humble man & I recall the time we stayed at his home with May & the family .. I was to speak in Nelson on a Sunday morning serivce & the entire family came down to help support me .. what an encouragement to have bro' Barry sitting on the front row praying for me. I LOVE HIM & HIS FAMILY.
Words do not adequately touch the true heart & nature of this Mighty Man of God. He is in Paradise with His Lord & Master .. I too look forward to seeing him again .... { Rev 21: 1-7 }
We love the entire SMITH FAMILY ... our condolances & Love go out to them all at this very sad time .. We only wished we could all come to the funeral to HONOR this WONDERFUL MAN OF GOD.
Unfortunately our family situation does not permit this to be a reality. But our hearts are certainly going to be there if we can not be there in person.
MUCH LOVE & BLESSINGS FROM THE McCORMACK family ..
WE LOVE YOU HEAPS
GOD's RICHEST BLESSINGS

Dear Mrs Smith and Family, our prayers and love go out to you at this both joyful and sad time. We rejoice that Barry is now home with the Lord, but also realise the shock of his sudden departure so far away from New Zealand. We appreiate all he has done for his Lord and Saviour and for us all. Thank you Jesus for Barry.

My son Daniel and I were very privileged to see Barry preaching in Winsford Civic Hall, and are very saddened to hear of his untimely death. We were strengthened in our faith to hear how the Lord had protected him on so many occasions, particularly in Africa. The message that Barry gave MUST be given urgently to the Body of Christ. We live in a time of great lukewarmness as foretold in Holy Scripture. It is time for the Lord's people to wake up and repent, to seek him with all their heart. The Lord Jesus Christ will appear soon to those who are looking for Him, the wise virgins whose lamps are filled with oil, the oil of the Holy Spirit. May His servant rest in peace and awake to a joyful resurrection.

Glory to God for a life that has positively affected possibly thousands all over the World. Barry's life has been a great challenge and encouragement. He was a man we have come to love since about 8 years ago when he spoke in our meetings in Manchester. We also had the privilege of meeting with you May, at that time. Since he was to speak in one of our meetings in London the day after, in consultation with Steve, we felt we should hold a short meeting in honour of his life. we are delighted to say that two people committed their Lives to The Lord at that meeting, and many others were blessed.

You are in our prayers. The Lord Himself will comfort you and be with you.

I remember hearing about Barry Smith when I was very young, he had a message that was too much to bear it seemed. I wondered what inspired and moved a man like this...many many years later I had the privilege of being in the congregation to hear him speak, I brought some tapes and books. After Sept. 11 I made sure I bought some more books. I saw an unmistakable passion to know God more, he couldn't possibly keep quiet about that. God used a unique, one-in-a-million kiwi bloke who was an ambassador reconciling man to God..'that none should perish.' Barry set a godly example for others to follow, the messages of condolence minister to me, the words, "Well done..good and faithful servant!" come to mind and a song (I forget all the words) "Forbid it Lord that I should boast, save in ........... all the vain things I count but loss and pour contempt on all my pride" - somehow, for me, tells who Barry Smith was on this earth. "Oh death where is your sting!" To Barry's Wife and Family, Arohanui, we share your tears, we will grieve for a while in the night but joy comes in the morning. AMEN

To May & the family

We are sorry to hear of your loss. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.

We have always been inspired by the wonderful messages Barry has shared re: "end time prophesy" It was a blessing to hear Barry speak at our 'Samoan AOG Conference' in Samoa Yr 2000.
We thank God for the opportunity to see and hear Barry one last time speak at Penshurst AOG church NSW a few months ago.

Praise God for men like Barry Smith who have inspired many of us to have the boldness to speak the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and see many souls saved into the Kingdom of God.

May God Bless and keep you.

Love, Ps Poasa & Lurline and family - Praise & Worship Centre, Villawood NSW Australia.

My Deepest Sympathy to Barry's Family, & Friends, I hadnt heard of Barry before, but after being loaned a video of Barry presenting a meeting & teaching on the Cashless Society; NWO & Freemasonry, and was told that Barry would be coming for some meetings to my Home Town in Tasmania, I was totally impressed to see & hear Barry's anointed Teachings, I could clearly see the love & warmth & good humor that he possesed, he will be greatly missed, in these Dark times, but as Barry said on the video, "Iam not Worried, because Iam on the Winning side, and tthe good news is that Jesus is coming back soon" AMEN, May the God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob bless you

In May 1990 I had decided that I should urgently give my heart to the Lord. I knew that my mother had some of Barry Smith's books - I had read them. I knew that in the back of his books is a prayer of salvation.

I am so glad that I prayed that prayer and made a committment. My life changed.

Barry has ran the race, he has received the prize.
To live is Christ to die is gain, he was a no nonsense on fire Christian who had awesome knowledge and revelation about the prophetic time we live in, although he claimed he wasn't a Prophet he most definetly was a prophetic watchman.
You could see this as a time of grief, or you could see the real eternal reality, Barry would be smiling and overjoyed being in the presence of the one he lived for.
I hope one of his family has taken up his mantle, to keep this vital ministry ablaze.
My condolences to the Smith family, know that you are in the hearts and prayers, of many of your brothers and sisters right around the earth.
Peter Sweeney.

Dear May and my dear cousins, although I live in Florida USA I have always kept up with news of your family via Ingrid my sister.
It is with sadness that I read this mmorning of Barry's passing. I had hoped on my visit to NZ in three weeks that I could visit, and see for myself what I had heard about Barry's great work. I am happy to know that my cousin was such an inspiration to so many. I am so proud that he love our Lord with such enthusiasm leaving no doubt as to our final destiny.
I know you will miss his bright cheerful smile, but I know you will always feel close to him in spirit.
May our Lord bring you comfort and love, may you be strengthened by the knowledge that you will be together once again. Go in peace to love and serve the Lord. Amen.
My family and I send you our loving thoughts and prayers.
Carolyn

Dear May and family,
Ever since Barry came to Gisborne a few weeks ago we have taken to turning off the TV at night and watching one of his videos instead. He has been the source of much encouragement, inspiration and laugher in our home and we are very sad to hear today of his leaving. Even though we had only met in passing he felt like an old friend to us. We look forward to meeting him again soon (and hearing some more of his wonderful stories).
"EVERYBODY!!!" (as Barry would say)

With our love and prayers for you until then, Gary, Lydia and Margaret Ohuka, Gisborne, NZ

Dear Aunty May,Andrew, Saskia, Becky, Denny, Rachael and families, also Keith and Angela and family,
Thank you for the impact your family has had in our lives. As a young couple, it was inspirational for us to see young people whose friends were their parents. Your home opened to us and Bible reading and discussions after tea had a big impact on our marriage and on the raising of our children.

Your hospitality was amazing, and when Uncle Barry said, "We'll put on a couple of muttons", he really meant it!

The other day I heard myself say to my 4 mth old, "2 mths to go!" We also have been known to say "The car will be leaving in 5 mins ":o)

God bless you and keep you over this time and always. With much love in Christ,
Peter and Helen, Jessica, Rebecca, Amy, Josh, Caleb, Daniel, Susannah and Nathan.

Dear May and family,
We were touched by the ministry of Barry Smith both as single people and then after we were married here in Sydney in the early '80s. Much of Barry's incredible preaching influenced Michael in particular as a new Christian then, and we remember with fondness the lovable, affable character of this great and devoted man of God.

We join with thousands of people on this earth in saying farewell to a loved and hardworking minister of the Gospel of Jesus. His efforts and influence will be missed, but what he planted here will continue to bear fruit for many decades to come.

We thank God that Barry has left a great and lasting legacy.

God bless you and all your family, May, and we continue to pray for you with all of our church in southern Sydney.

Valery, Michael and Shire Christian Centre,
Sutherland, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
