Dear May and family,
Jannette and I really want to send our heartfelt love and prayers at this time. We like you know Barry is with the Lord, however the departing is none the less sad and the loss real. I know that Barry's legacy will continue in the hearts and lives of those he ministered to. We thank the Lord for his life and the example it was to us all. I know you can all be very proud of him for the great man of God that he was. His humility and conviction to the word of God was an inspiration to us all.

We will be praying for the service, even though we are in Thailand our hearts will be there on that day.

Love and blessings,

Leigh, Jannette, Abby and Ty

Dear May and the whole Smith Family,
I would like to say how devasted we are at hearing the news of Barry. We are thrilled to bits for him as he will be so so happy now but what a great hole he leaves down here. He had such a fantastic personality. We just devoured all the books and videos as they are so funny, right on and so easy to understand. Mankind is the very much poorer from loosing this great man of God. May and Family, THANKYOU SO MUCH for sharing him with us and may God Bless you all at this time and the future. With lots of Love in Jesus Name.

Dear Aunty May, Andrew, Becky and Rachel and family,

what a privilege that i knew Barry Smith as 'Uncle Barry' when my mum and dad (Maurice and Jan Cullen) used to take us to Oakridge Camp when you guys lived in Northland.
when i first heard that he had died, i couldnt beleive it, but then my husband heard Andrew talking with Latent Smith on the radio about it.
I havent seen him since that time but i felt such a rush of emotion and the tears flowed freely and still are.
i called my dad in aussie and we cried and laughed together as we remebered the times that we spent with you guys - those times, and the ministry that i received from you as a family have touched my life and im so grateful to you all for that.
what a wonderful, funny man your dad was, so annointed and close to God, to be around him was to be close to God also. what an absolute privilege and honour to have known him.
Our tears are for the loss we feel and for your loss of your Dad but more for joy at the fact that he is now with Jesus in that beautiful place, no doubt having a few laughs with some of his good mates!
All our love and thoughts are with you

Dear Family,
While he is irreplaceable, and you have lost a great family man, you can't 'lose' people like Barry. He graduated with honours.

I got baptised in the Holy Spirit the first time I ever heard Barry speak at the Royal Theatre in Nelson, October 1979.
My daughter-in-law in Canterbury got saved after reading one of his books in the early 90's.
He holds a very special place in my heart.
Can't you just hear Heaven rejoicing at his entrance?
My prayers are also with you dear family.

I would just like to encourage the family of Brother Barry Smith, having lost my own dear mother in April of this year. This is the day that the Lord hath made, I will rejoice and be glad in it. You have not lost anyone dear friends, but heaven has gained one. It would be good to see you folks back in England sometime.

The Lord God bless thee and keep thee, the Lord God turn His face towards thee, lift His hand over you, and shine upon thee, the Lord God show unto you his favour, love, peace and unending mercy.

Much love in the Lord Jesus Christ May and the family.

Dear May & family, our love & prayers are with you at this time of loss. Barry was one of the greatest soul winners in the last 35 years in Australia. But he was more than that, he was a Christian gentleman who lived what he preached. He was a great example & wonderful family man.

There will be thousands in heaven because of his committeed live. Jesus Christ was every thing to him & now he is in his presence.

On behalf of all the members of the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International the National Board presents our condolences and love to May and family.
What a joy it has been to have Barry preach, teach and proclaim God's oracles, with great humour and without compromising.
Barry, as a member and speaker has had a great impact on the lives of many people in the Fellowship.
May our dear Lord comfort and strengthen you all in the knowledge that we will meet one day, never to be separated again.

Eighteen years ago when I became a Christian, I walked into my first Christian bookshop. I had never been so blessed, excited and joyous in my life. I had no idea what book to buy, so I just started browsing. The Holy Spirit then led me to Barry.s first book, Warning. I believed every word he wrote. I have always checked the Bible for reference. I still get the Omega Times.
Like the family I miss him. But I know in my heart that he is with our Lord. He has done all that God wanted him to do. It is his rest time now and his reward
On behalf of my family all our prayers and sympathy to Barry's family and loved ones. May the Holy Spirit bring you peace, comfort and refuge at this time. Love Doris.

To the Smith Family,

I send my deapest condolences to the family of one of the greats this country has produced. God was truly upon Barry's life. The thing that inspires me the most about Barry is how he brought the charasmatic world and the fundamental worlds together. He had a strong influence on both of these groups, not worrying about who was right and who was wrong but focussing on what the Bible had to say.

Barry is truly one of the Bible greats of this century and the last. He will be remembered for his prohetic knowledge and his simplicity in sharing the Gospel. I do Pray that his ministry continues and that people would catch the vision he had and take the vision to the millions that have not heard.

Barry Smith was and is the best thing that this country has produced in regards to an evangelist. It is him that put NZ on the map, we should be proud that we share in a kiwi who is well known and respected by people all over the world for his prophesy teachings and evangelism.

He fought the Good fight and he finished his course. May God Bless the Smith Family

When I first was told that Barry went to be with the Lord, I didn't believe it, I didn't want to believe it, I was hoping it was just another of those unchecked rumour's, this evil world need's great men like Barry. But when I found out it was true I felt sad and empty. I loved Barry very much and went to many of his meetings and had many of his video's. I took many of my christian friend's to see Barry and played his videos to them and it wasn't long before they loved him as much as I did. At one meeting he walked right over to me and shook my hand, you will never know how much that meant to me. He was a lovely Godly man, very humble, very holy, and full of the wisdom of the Lord. Barry was very funny, what jokes ha ha. He was a great preacher of God's word and I was amazed how he would speak for 2 hour's on most occasions without a script,he was truly annointed. Barry is now with Jesus in Heaven and he has had his hug from the Lord, and I look forward to my hug from the Lord too. I love you Jesus and I love you Barry, and I look forward to meeting both of you soon.

My sincere condolances To his Wife May and all the Smith Family,

God Bless, Will.
