Since coming to Christ thirty years ago Barry has had a huge influence on my life. His courage, outspoken presentation of the Gospel, his steasfastness, and his "realness" were a major influence in shaping my early years as a Christian. I will forever treasure the memories of him challenging his listeners with the claims of Jesus Christ. Perhaps the most enduring memory I have of him is after an outreach meeting in Dunedin in the late 1970's where many had come to Christ, I remarked to another, older believer, "He sure makes it hard to come to the Lord (i.e. walk the aisle)." The reply was, "Yes, but hardly any of his converts ever fall away." Barry, I salute you, and look forward to meeting with you again in glory.

Dear Mae and Family,
We send our love and sympathy to you all. We constantly come across people who have come to know and accept the Lord under Barry's Ministry. Only last Thursday at a Bible Study a young man testified to this in his life! It has been our privilege to know you all and to have been blessed and encouraged by Barry's ministry and friendship. May you know and experience the Lord's comfort in this time of grief. Many around the world will give thanks for Barry's life lived in dedication to the Lord.
Loving sympathy, John & Shirley Baker & family ex El Rancho.

Our deepest condolences to all family and friends, but I'm quite sure that God's promise that we, that believe in Jesus and live like our Father wants us to, shall become like the angels in Heaven and has now happened to our brother Barry Smith. I first heard and seen Barry in the early 1990's and knew then that we were close to the end times. I recently seen Barry in June at Yate Leisure Centre, Bristol, England., where he was busy as ever bringing people to the foot of the cross. I chatted with him after the service as he always had time for people. Now all we have to do is follow Jesus' footsteps, just like Barry did. Remember : Christians never say " Goodbye ", but " SEE YOU LATER ",God Bless you all. Amen

Dearest May, Andrew, Rachel, Becky and your families,

We are so saddened to hear the news of Barry, mainly for the loss to your family and the body of Christ on earth!

But for Barry, great gladness in the presence of the Lord as the words, "Come into the joy of the Lord, you good and faitful servant!" resound in heaven.

We have so many wonderful memories of Barry, some for Graeme that go back more than 25 years. He has shared stories with me and the kids of the crazy, hilarious, anointed, celebrated camps and speaking engagements Barry, he and others did together in the early 70's. He has had us splitting our sides over some of the antics they all got up to, all great fun. Barry was so gifted but his warmth, love and humour could melt the coolest heart, disarm the most defensive person and make you love him!:-)

And most importantly, so many were saved as a result of Barry's utter faithfulness to speak an uncompromising message of salvation. Our 13 year old son publicly confirmed his committment to Jesus in one of Barry's meeting in Wellington just last year. We will never forget your dear husband and Dad. Along with so many, we will sorely miss him.

Dear May & Family
At this time of Barrys home going we send our love and prayers to you.
In January 5th our little baby boy Noah went to be with the Lord and we can take comfort that we live as Barry preached many times at the threshold of the imminent return of our Jesus.
What comfort we can take knowing at His return our loved ones will be with our Lord and together we will be with them in the Kingdom to come.
We thank the Lord for the anointing that was upon Barry and the multitudes that are and will be in the kingdom through his ministry.

In His service

To May and family,
Thank you for this opportunity to pay our respects to you all. Barry had a wonderful ministry, it will never die, as it lives on in the hearts of so many grateful men and women. We attended Barry's meetings at every opportunity and were always blessed and enlightened. Even though we loved his end time teaching, we believe his teaching on the family was his 'magnus opus'. You remain his example of a godly head of the home, leader, father and husband.
May the Lord keep you in perfect peace in the days ahead.
As the directors of Above Rubies here in NZ we are particularly grateful for the ministry of the whole Smith family. Thank you all and thank you for the memories we have of Barry too.

I'd like to give my sincere sympathies to the Smith family. I know that Barry will have a special place and role in heaven for all the fantastic work he did here. I thank God for his several visits here in Peterhead, Scotland and for the hard work and research he put into his work in letting people know of end time prophecies. May God give you, his family an extra abundance of peace and his love. With love in Jesus, Scott

I thank the Lord for Barry Smith, his minsitry and his special prophetic gifts. I leaned much from his tapes and his teaching in England.

He will be missed, but is now surely with Jesus and God knows how to reward his servants.

Dear May and children,
It was a privilege to know and hear Barry and he has meant such a lot to us as a family. We will always cherish everything that he taught us.What I know about the Lord today is what Barry taught me.I saw his first video in 1990 and could'nt get enough of it and everytime Barry came to South Africa we followed him around and tried to attend as many meetings as possible.
Dear May and family I know that very soon we will meet Barry again at the Eastern gate and we will sing Amazing grace once more with Barry leadins us.What a homecoming that will be.
All our love,
The Barnard family,
South Africa.

To Aunty May and Family

When we heard of the news our first reaction was "Well done you good and faithful servant" - our reflection of Uncle Barry's life was of great character, his love for the Lord and his servanthood. What a legacy he has left for your family.

Uncle Barry was an inspiration to us as a couple and especially as parents. I will never ever forget his message on "Tapestry of Life". When he spoke of this message at CCF a few years ago, this has never left my thoughts and I always refer back to his notes for direction and to know that our lives are exactly like this. Uncle Barry spoke the truth and was direct and real in everything he said. Praise God.

Our prayers, thoughts and love are with you all now as you prepare for the "Celebration of Uncle Barry's Life" may God grant you the peace, love and assurance that, you will rejoin with your husband, father, grandfather and friend once again.

Love to you all

Dear Andrew & Family.

I just want to let you know how much my heart goes
out to your family. A family that has given out to others unceasingly, ever since I've known you!

I really hope Barry, & all your family realises how much I appreciated the friendship, hospitality, sincerity and love that you always gave to me and my family during our years in N.Z.

I was very new member of God's family in those days, & the unconditional love & wisdom I learned from you all, I carried back to my own beautiful, but needy country. Thankyou.

Please accept my deepest love and condolances, and know this, that my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I do hope we can meet again sometime - on earth!

Your brother in Christ.

David (Matthew 5:6)

With deepest sympathies for the Smith family.

Going to a Barry Smith meeting in Morecambe, UK in 1998 changed my life - God put me back on track and I have Barry Smith to thank for that.

To the Smith Family,
Our son rang us from New Zealand tonight and told us of Barry's passing. Please accept our heartfelt sympathy at the loss of such a dynamic husband and father. We feel bereft ourselves having followed Barry's 'talks' over the last 20 years, and loved and respected him so much. He was instrumental in bringing several members of our family into the Kingdom through his books, videos etc.
Although we know that now he is rejoicing with the Lord, it is so hard to part from those you love, so our special prayer for you all, is that you would truly experience the "oil of joy for mourning" that we did when my precious Mum passed away, who had prayed us all into the Kingdom.
We never met Barry but some day we will, but you have surely been privileged to have been part of his family, and we know he felt the same about you all. God bless and keep you in His wonderful care.
