To the Smith family,
My prayers and thoughts are with you at this time. Barry had a major impact on my life and my family's. My sister and I were saved under his ministry and not long after that the rest of my family were saved. It was often commented that those who made decisions for christ under his ministry stayed in the kingdom. My family is a testimony of that. I am a Pastor at Hillsong church and I want to take this opportunity to thank you for allowing Barry to be the man of God that he was. May God continue to fill you with His love and peace.

I had the priviledge of meeting a great family member that I had heard so much of over the years.
My connection to Barry Smith was through his wife, May who is the sister of my Grandmother, who is known as Kesi or Louisa.

I can remember my Father (Ernest, eldest son of Kesi) telling me that I had a famous uncle who was an Evangelist and was renown for his ability to predict catastrophic events.

Whilst I have had an 'indirect' relationship with God, I wanted to meet this great man. Uncle Barry preached at the Hosanna Church in Taita, Wellington, NZ some time in the middle of 2001. My first impressions was one of amazement at how this palagi minister could speak fluent Samoan. But my lasting impression was not of what he had to say but by his actions when Aunty May introduced me to him for the first time. I can recall his first words "Well come and give your Uncle a hug" And the way he huged me, it seemed as if he was embracing a long lost son.

Whilst I did not know him on a level that other people did, my lasting impression of him is just one of countless wonderful experiences of Barry Smith's legacy.

To Dear May and family of Barry Smith,
Ijust wanted to pass on my condoleances to you on the passing of such a great man of God.Iwas saved only a few years ago and heard Barry talk at Nambor Chritian College one night shortly after this.I am so gratefull to have heard his messages about end times and to recieve the wisdom and knowledge of the bible through such a dedicated and annointed man of God.He surely must have been a faithfull servant with little, because God gave him the big things to do durring his time on Earth.Thankyou to you all for sharing your Husband ,Dad and grandfather with us.I will never forget the seed of the word he planted .and what Ireally liked about him was that he was so funny and had many great stories to tell, and that was just in the 2 nights Iheard him speak. At the recent visit he had here in qld, Australia ,at the sunshine coast, He said he truely believed this was the last time he would see us as he believed Jesus was comming before he was shedualed to visit this way again. Well He did come ,but not to get us all this time ,but to take home Barry. It was quite a shock to me because Ijust believed God would keep using him until Jesus did come, because there really is no one else like him to discerne the current events and end time phrophecy that Ihave ever seen or heard of today.Which makes me wonder how close Jesus really is to comming.Barry will be missed by many and we hope that the Omega Times will still continue as many of us have gained so much from it each month.WHAT A VESSELL OF GOLD,THATS ALL I CAN SAY . GODS Shalom to you all..LOVE YOUR SISTER IN CHRIST ,VIVIENNE SIMITZIS A.O.G. COOLUM BEACH...Q.L.D ..AUSTRALIA

A very special friend has left us, but not forever...Barry came into our lives in 1983 when we were neighbours in Havelock. He introduced us to Jesus, and set before us a beautiful example of "Christlikeness" both in his own life and that of the whole Smith family. Our memories of Barry are very happy ones..especially the support we received from the whole family every time our island farm was flooded. Barry would keep us posted, by phone, of the height the water was getting as it flowed passed his home on it's way to our farm. One day he jokingly commented that his caravan had just floated off & that it would soon be sailing passed our door! I could go on and on with many more stories but this is not the place. May, Andrew, Becky and Rachael we love you dearly..you've had a profound affect on our lives and we thank you, but the most influential one was Barry what a guy..and now he is with his Master and Friend forever..the ultimate reward. God bless from Joe, Lynda, Ricky, Matthew & Josh Boulton. Dunedin.

"Bazza" your teachings were a real inspiration to us in the UK.We have taken many study notes from your teachings from such programmes as `Revelations`. Although we didn`t know you or ever hear you speak in person, we loved and respected you and always referred to you in our house as "Bazza" in an affectionate way.We will continue to feed on your teachings which are so relevant to all of us.We thank God for your life, your insight, for being faithful.

We thank God for Barry's wonderful life and ministry. We were with him on the two days before he died, and had a chance to chat to him briefly. What came over most was his gentleness & graciousness, as well as his immense knowledge of various subjects. What a privilege it was for those who received Jesus through his ministry just the day before he died!

We send our love to May, Andrew and the rest of your dear family. We all look forward to renewed fellowship in glory!

With love from

I would like to express my sincere condolences to you and your family at the loss of a husband, father and grandfather. I heard Barry speaking many years ago in Belfast and was inspired by his anointing. I always refer back to his book on end time prophecies, esepecillay these times.
It is good to celebrate his life and the work that he did, the lives he enriched, and the legacy he has left, the walk that he walked without falter. It is hard to be an evangelist away from home and your family but he was strong in his faith. and now importantly we celebrate that he is at home with the Lord.
Love in Christ.

Dear May and family, Talofa!
I have so many precious memories of our times together both here and in NZ and on the trips I was privileged to take with you both.
We laughed together about being "abtholutely thertain" when we couldn't find our address in Auckland - but I am "absolutely certain" Barry has the right address in heaven.

I still get goose bumps when I see Barry standing up with the birth certificate calling people out. We talked last Friday about the videos and the hearer. A neighbour rang me and said that their cell group was starting the videos this week. His ministry continues.

No words can express our feelings to each of you and as I read these messages, they confirm the reason for the tremendous impact of Barry's ministry. He was the same in every facet of his life. On stage or off. He presented Christianity for everyone to reach out and take and I thank God for the teaching, the humour and the dedication and also for the support that you gave May to enable this to happen. What a team!

with love from Margaret, Karen, Garry, Adam and Laura - Peakhurst, Sydney.

To all the family,
Since I was told about Barry and heard about some of his books, a few years ago, I have always wanted to meet him. Just a few months ago I joined a new church here in Penryn (Cornwall, England) and when I heared that he was going to be visiting our church I was realy looking forward to it. When I met him, I felt so priveliged. I went to all four of his meetings here. It was at one of his meetings that I actually gave my life to the Lord along with my brother,(my brothers name is Zeke, he's only 13, and I'm 15). It was really great and now I am glad I did it. It was a great pleasure listening to his teachings and I enjoyed every minute of every one of them.

My family and I are thinking of you,

God bless

from Kylie

Dear May & Family,

We send our love and prayers to you all at this time. Barry was truly an inspirational man and teacher of the Word Of God. He will be sadly missed. He was both real and practical with the truth of which we carry on and see things come to pass. He always gave his all for both people to serve them and to serve the living God. Barry always had a way of making us laugh and that joy was refreshing. He will be sadly missed, but one day when Jesus comes for us all (for those that know him as there Personal Saviour and have repented of there sins) then we will all see him again. He has just gone on ahead of us. Barry is now in the presence of Jesus. Well done thou good and faithful servant. Enter into the Joy of the Lord. SHILOH BARRY AND MAY AND THE FAMILY. SHILOH (PEACE)

Gregory and Carole Pash

ps: We met Barry briefly whilst he was in England at the Perdiswell Leisure Centre in Worcester, England. That night he was very tired. Our Sikh friend gave his life to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Barry R. Smith
Our memories of Barry we will always treasure, from his wonderful videos, books and of course,
The Omega Times, which we eagerly awaited every month. We could not wish him back from what Jesus describes as “Paradise” but we do wonder, as you all must too, how will we ever do without him. His teaching made so much sense to us and put so much of what was happening into perspective, his style and his beautiful sense of humour were truly unequalled. One of Barry’s favourite quotes will always stay with us: “That the only safe place to be in these uncertain and perilous times is soaked in Scripture!” He certainly was! and we are trying to be likewise.
We know that you will be planning a beautiful “Thanksgiving Celebration of his Life and if we were in New Zealand we have both said that we would certainly want to come to be with you for it – our prayers are with you and will be especially with each of you on the 8th.
We send our love and condolences to you from Hamilton, Victoria, Australia.
