Thankyou God for giving us Barry Smith. Thanx Barry for your obedience, passion and commitment to the call. Thanx May for sharing your husband with us all, and, the children for sharing your dad with the world.
I attended Barry's services at the Garden City Christian Centre, Qld. Australia and was compelled to travel with Barry & May to Israel, Greece and Turkey in September 1993. I treasure the memories from this trip. Barry reading scriptures at various sites on route and that one in 6 billion sense of humour. A full and genuine smile and a twinkle in his eye. 'Uniquely & Wonderfully made'.
Barry Smith glorified Jesus as he ushered Him into the hearts of millions.
Thanx again & Agape to the family

To the Smith Family
As others may have already said about Uncle Barry, as he was so affectionatley called by many, my lasting memories of him will always be his great sense of humour.
Every time I saw him, or every time he saw my father, there would always be a cracking joke followed by raucous laughter. Often times he would have a bag full of jokes to tell - you would swear he had saved them up just so he could tell you the next time you met him.
He was a great man, and he has left behind a great family, not to mention all the good work and memories.
Love to you all
Simon and Adele

Dear May, Andrew, Rebekah, and Rachel,
It seems years since I first met you all as You pulled up on the front lawn with the Mark I Zephyr and the menagerie of animals. A breakthrough happenened in those meetings, in Blenheim which continued for many years. Remember those freezing baptisms in the Wairau River !! Thousands came to know Jesus through Barry's ministry - these converts were known in that they almost always went on with the Lord.
Barry was a great friend, ringing up with his news and his latest joke. No more so than this last year, when your visit May, to Sophia and I, and Barry's phone calls were much appreciated.
GREAT will be his reward in heaven. I shall so miss his friendship, his great laugh and his committment to the Lord. This earth is poorer for the passing of one whom I considered to be New Zealand's leading Evangelist for many years.
God bless you and comfort you,
Ian Bilby.

To the dear Smith Family,
I was really shocked to learn of Bro. Barry's death and saddened. It was only last May this year that I have attended a series of seminars he conducted in Penshurst, Sydney. This was the second that I have attended. The first one was in 1994 and it was during this time that my eyes were opened to bible prophecies and how they relate to our everyday lives. This has strenghtened my faith in the living God and my saviour Jesus Christ and had put joy in my heart since for His appearing. I know where Bro. Barry is now and someday we are all going to meet him again. May God's presence comfort you this time.

Dear May and Family,
Writing this through tears of sadness but also joy to have known Barry and to have heard his message several times as well as enjoying both of your company around our table. Every time something new breaks in the world news we say, "Wonder what Barry thinks of that??" His message never faltered and we are assured that he has recieved a "Well done, good and faithful servant!!!"
We appreciated Barry's zealous desire to preach
the gospel and bring people to the Lord. As he
shared some of the end time message taking place
in the world and the need for people to repent while there was still time, he also lightened
the evening with his magnificent humor. We shared many of his tapes and videos with others and were so blessed by both of you. God bless
you May and the children. May you carry on the
wonderful message of Jesus Saves!!
In Christ,
Carol and Corky Erickson

Dear May and the Smith family
We extend our heartfelt sympathy to you all at this time of great loss. Barry was faithful to the call and gave his all to it. It was about 29 years ago I came in contact with Barry and the family while working with Youth with a Mission in my country, Tonga. Since then we have kept in touch. At the "Harvest 2000 Conference"in Palmerston North, Barry shared in one of the sessions, then he said with urgency in his voice "Take this message and share it around" then he hugged us all. I had forgotten everything he said except that statement. I believe this is Barry's legacy that he would want us to remember him that we take up the torch and take the message of the gospel and carry on, for the passing of a great man of God is the end of one era but the beginning of another with new torch bearers to take it to a lost world.
Thank you Barry
Our love to you all.

Precious Smith Family,
Today was our first look at your Website after meaning to for such a long time...only to be stunned to discover that Barry has gone on to be with the Lord! It's hard to know what to say.. there's the saddness of loss of the physical person to the family, friends and many admirers. We certainly fit into the latter category having been so blessed and inspired by Barry's ministry. I believe we have led others to the Lord by utilising Barry's teaching, books and describing the passion , humour and seriousness of his live meetings. ( We're so glad we went to a fairly recent series of talks at Kings College on the Gold Coast, Australia.)
However there is the joy of knowing that Barry, who always exclaimed "It's alright, King Jesus is coming soon!" is now with his beloved King, Saviour and Best Friend. Our heartfelt prayers are with your family, God bless you, keep you, comfort you and guide you.
love,
Rev.Peter and Venus Thake and Family

I was saddened today to hear of Barry's departure, but also jealous with love that he has gone to be with the Lord. His passion was to help lost souls find the Truth, and his life so evidently taken over by his love for Christ. It was a pleasure and honour to see Barry live and he has without a doubt left an impression on many lives including ours. No doubt that he now has one of the best seats in the House!
May Peace be with the Smith family at this time and all our love goes out to you.

Rasik and Lalita are in Europe on Sabbatical long service leave. When they heard about Barry's death they asked us to pray for you in the Abundant Life Centre public meetings and to send their deepest condolences to you all.
We prayed fervently that you experience the continuing comfort and grace of God that you have already drawn upon on many occassions in the past. We all remember Barry with gratitude for his example and ministry. Our God is faithful and has perfected that which Barry was called upon to do.
All our love and prayers

We just want to say that we as a family, will be eternally grateful to your husband and father, Barry Smith. He came to Tokoroa in August, 1998 and gave a week long seminar which we all attended. On the last night (Friday 14th) my husband, Bill, responded to Barry's altar call and gave his life to the Lord Jesus. We are so grateful that he used his God given gifts of expounding God's Word to the town of Tokoroa for that whole week!
Having a Christian husband and father, has made all the difference to our lives! He is now the true head of the house, in every sense of the word. Thank you for setting Barry free to do what God called him to do.
May our God comfort you in this sad time. What a marvelous thought though to know that we will all see Barry again one day in Heaven!
Love,
Bill & Jan Franklyn. (Papamoa)

Dear May and family
We thank the Lord for our every memory of Barry and the impact he had on our lives.
Thank you for sharing him with us and supporting his ministry.
We were fortunate to hear him and meet him on many occasions in England, his love for the Lord and everyone he met was obvious to all.
We thank him for equiping us to share the end time message, even though many christians scoffed at that time. God has since opened their eyes to the signs of the times we are now living in.
As we read the news and see events unfolding it once again spurs us on to share the good news and to once more check our own lives.
We will always remember with fondness seeing Barry hand out New Birth Certificates to those who had been born again into the family of God.
What joy will fill his soul when he sees them finally arrive trading in their birth certificates for their names in the Lambs Book of Life.
Asking for another encore of Amazing Grace.
Praise the Lord for Barrys life and thank him for leaving us a forwarding address!
Love and thoughts to you all at this time
Simon and Mary Jones

Dear May and family, we heard a few days ago of Barry passing into glory. We would thank you so much for your faithfulness in preaching the full gospel in spirit and in truth.
We first heard of Barry Smith through a tape given to us about 17 years ago, when we were first saved. The message terrified us at the time, but we sought out where to find more. As the Lord spoke to us through tapes to start with, and then videos, we heard that Barry would be coming to South Wales, UK. We went with friends, who also began to listen to what the Lord had to say through Barry, most of which has come to pass.
We always went to Barry's meetings when he was in the UK, the last one at City Temple, Cardiff, where a family member came for deliverance.
Barry will be sadly missed by us, and a large number of friends.
Our hearts go out to May and family, although rejoycing at Barry's walking the streets of gold.
Thank you so much Barry, well done faithfull servant, see you in heaven. God Bless all the Smith family, Anne, Deanne, & Lesley xx

We want to thank the Lord for Barry's life and ministry. We have been impacted greatly by his ministry over many years. It was not just the mesage but the man God had made who was the message that spoke the loudest. Barry's love for God, devotion to the task, huge love for people, and an amazing capacity to communicate have been an inspiration. So much seed has been sown from his life, we can expect nothing less than a huge harvest.
Our love and prayer with May and the family at this time. the word will comtinue to go forth. bary's life and ministry will continue to speak. God will be be glorified,Jesus will return, Barry with him.
Every Blessing

Just wanted to write and to let you all know that barry will be so missed. Through his ministry worldwide I came to know his tapes and books and they challenged me and put me back on track. They were loaned around and many more here came to/rededicated themselves to the Lord. Barry had a way with him, you could tell he was annointed but listening to him was like listening to a dear friend talking about The Dear Friend. I could watch a video for two hours and think it short. I appreciated his humour, his commitment, his dedication, frankly I did not understand how he carried on but I know the Lord carried him and May and the rest of the family. A week ago I was drawn to watching the 1998 Israel tour taken by Andrew and Saskia, I watch it often but had not for a little while. I never made the trip myself although I did try. I hope the family and the wider family take solace in the fact that Barry is with those who he helped get to Glory and I am sure he will be stunned at the millions. The Lord used Barry in a special way, he was a man of the people, a family man, a funny man, a real man of God. God bless you all, you will be in my thought s and prayers and thank you May and family for sharing Barry with us all these years. I am in Scotland, we loved him here and I think he loved Scotland too, apart from the weather.
Allison
