I have read several of Barry's books, and had the privelege of hearing him speak here in Whangarei. What a great speaker! What a wonderful human being. No doubt there is great rejoicing going in in heaven right now, I am sure Barry has heard those awesome words "Well done my good and faithful servant!" May the Holy Spirit comfort his family who are yet still waiting for that moment to come, themselves. This life is but a moment in the scheme of things, that time of reunion will soon come. Thank you Barry and family- yours was a voice crying in the wilderness, and you have brought hope to so many. The LORD'S blessings be constantly upon the Smith family. Regards, Tracey and familyXX

I heard Barry speak just over a year ago in Auckland, New Zealand. I was informed about his sudden departure to be with the Father today. My wife never got the opportunity to hear him speak, and that is a pity. His enthusiasm and eagerness to tell people more about the love of God is something that will always stay with me. May the Lord be with you as a family during this time of grief. Honestly, I think, no I am convinced that Barry could not wait to be with the Father as he probably already have a list of questions he want answers to.

Dear May & Family, We have been privledged to have heard Barry 1st in the 70's where his message turned our lives around. Later through friends in Marlborough we met personally May Barry and others of the family. Caught up with May and Barry again at the Harvest Conference where Barry was given a standing ovation for his committment, loyalty and outstanding love of Jesus and unswerving dedication to bring anyone who would listen to the truth that would set them free. We will always remember Barry's wide smile, and sleeves rolled up if there was any job around to do, his humility and quick wit. Our thoughts and prayers with May, Andrew, Becky and family and especially little Ted

We send our love to the family of Barry- we have been blessed by his ministry since first hearing him at St Pauls Chch in the late 70s
and consequently cutting bits from newspapers on EEC and world events. It opened our eyes to prophecy today and what is ahead. Bless you all for sharing him with the world!

I am sorry to hear of Barry Smith's passing. He was a source of inspiration to me throughout my Christian walk, particularly in the early days. I am so thankful that Barry could see through the propaganda and lies that so many (in christian circles) choose to remain ignorant to. Barry has inspired to me to walk in his steps as a truth seeker and to use the knowledge gained to educate those searching for answers. Thank you Barry for boldly declaring the truth in spite of your critics. You will always be one of my earthly heroes. Enjoy eternity!!!

To May, Andrew and Saskia and family,

I only found out about Barry's death at CCF this last Sunday, sorry for the lateness of this message.
I know God will be your source of comfort at this difficult time, I'm praying for you all. But as you said in the obituary Andrew, you will see Barry again soon.
My first memories of Barry were sitting aournd the family table at night and listening to his tapes, instead of watching the news. Fantastic teaching.
I was so glad i got to hear him in person again last year, and peak to Him.

2 Cor 1:3

Sincere condolenses

Love and many thanks to May and all the family for your support for brother Barry during a mighty ministry. There are many wonderful stories to be told, but Barry's is all the more precious to us because he led my wife to Jesus. Bless you all and may you feel the presence of the Lord and His comfort today and always.

Dear May, Andrew and Family

This is my second message because I have to write it. Barry has had an enormous influence in my life through his messages (not just on end times but on Christian living). I have only met him once and it feels like I have known him all this life! His sense of humour, powerful preaching and Christ-like example will always inspire me.

My brother first introduced his books to me and at that time (being a smart-alec, ignorant, self righteous Christian) I dismissed it as just another cult teaching. But over the years, I have found that he was genuine. As he said, "90% of my critics have never read my books". Now that I have read them, and have watched all his tapes, I know I was wrong.

Thank you Barry for bringing me back to the Lord's path. I don't think you are resting in peace (no time for resting)because right now I know you are busy chatting to Jesus, Moses, Elijah, Isaac etc.... and enjoying the heavenly choir music.

To May and Family, we will see the new Barry (with a heavenly body - no more "groaning" or moaning as he said) shortly. We will have millions of years to catch up with him when we go up. May God sustain you.

I would just like to pass on my condolances to family and friends. He taught his message well and has planted many seeds around the world. He is with our father now and peace be with him.

Yours Sincerely,
Denise Chappell.

Barry, I never met you and that will always be a loss to me. I am a new christian and a dear friend introduced me to your ministry. You have led a life full of the goodness of God and your life is an inspiration to us all. My greatest joy would be to have the relationship that you have had, (and still do up there, I assume), with
our wonderful God. What you have acheived in God's name for his glory will long be used to teach the new wave of christians in the coming revival. You have obeyed our father to the end and I am elated that you will now be able to claim your reward.
To your family I can only say that "To live in the Hearts of those we love is not to die". Rest in Peace, mighty warrior.

Dearest May & Family,
I was deeply saddened by your loss of your loving husband and father Barry Smith.
He was so special to me as he brought me to our Lord in 1989 at one of his Auckland services in the Elim Church.
I was 19 years old then.
Our Lord however, gave me the privilidge of being able to thank him and to hug him for bringing the message of truth to me at that time. This happened in one of the Napier services recently, this year. God is so faithful....
Thank you so much May for being the incredible woman that you are. Behind every wonderful man of God there is a wonderful praying woman.
Thank you May for being the backbone of your husbands ministry. I know that there is still more for you to do. I pray someone in the family will pick up the baton and run with the message that is so needed in this day and age.

With love
Karen

To all of you who have followed Barry, heaven has opened its arms to this man, he has been my biggest inspiration in my christian walk, and I thank the Lord for Barry.

He is with Jesus right now having such a glorious time, that we cant imagine it, not even in our wildest dreams.

My heart goes out to all those closest to him.

Be still for God is with you

"PRAISE THE LORD EVERYBODY!!", "Now King James readers read with me..". Will miss you Brother Barry but you're in a better place now, with our LORD JESUS, amen!

Dear Sister May and family,
All our love and support in prayer is with you in this time of berievement. Nevertheless, be comforted that your dear loving Husband, Grandfather, Father, Friend, is now with our LORD JESUS, along with the many who have gone before, Hebrews 12:1 ("cloud of many witnesses"),urging us who are still on Earth to finish the race like them. The next verse advises us to Focus: "Looking unto JESUS,the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before HIM,ENDURED the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of GOD", amen!
There's no doubt in my mind that Bro Barry used this as an example and implemented it into his life. He deserves his place beside JESUS and is now urging us to keep focusing on JESUS to finish the race too, that would be just him!
FOCUS on JESUS and keep praising the LORD! May HE bless you and your family even more, to enlarge your territory, may HIS hand be upon you in whatever you do and wherever you go, and that HE will grant you whatever you ask according to HIS will, amen!

GOD bless.

To the Smith Family,
Blessings to you all and condolenses on the loss of Barry, a husband and father.
We always enjoyed his company, teachings, and his love of dry jokes of which we shared a few.
It is with a mixture of sadness, that we will not see him for awhile and envy for where he is now that we write to you and send you our love and prayers at this time.
God Bless you all.

Dear May & Family,
We thank God upon every remembrance of our dear brother Barry. What a faithful servant of the Lord! He went forth with the gospel until his body couldn't go any more. Countless thousands are in the kingdom because of his faithless, untiring presentation of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you too May for being such a faithful supportive partner. You truly were a great gospel team.
We remember with deep affection our fellowship with Barry and yourself. Thank you for the two crusades you did for us at Grahams Road Elim Church in Christchurch during the 80's.

Our prayers and love are with you all as a family at this time.

Blessings

Dear May,

My heart-felt condolences at this time to you and your family. What wonderful memories we have of times spent with you are Barry in the past and being impacted by his powerful ministry.

Now he has entered in to his reward and I can only begin to imagine the incredible entry he would have had through those portals in to glory.
Earth's great loss is Heaven's gain.

My very, very special love to you May as you become one of us who carry on.

Norma
