I give thanks for Barry Smith's life commitment and dedication for seeking to show the lost their way home! I saw a 'seminar' / video series of him in South Africa in 1991. It moved me to see so many people coming forward to make a commitment to receive Jesus in their lives there and then.

I hope and pray for more people like Barry who have their finger on the pulse of what is really going on in the world and the anoiting of God to be the eyes ears and mouth of the real church!

I'm sorry this message is so late, but I have only just come across his material. I like the way he conducted himself and his meetings, straight to the point no messing about and honest as the day is long!

My thoughts for Barry R Smith are kept in my heart. He was a great man and a great entertainer. I would only pray that his recorded material will win more souls. Many blessings to his wife, children and grandchildren. And when the rapture takes place, we will meet Barry once again. Hallelujah!!!

I am deeply upset at only just realising the news at Barry Smith being no longer with us in this time. I have taken with me all my life the knowledge bestowed upon me from Barry about his teachings, and even though i strayed and have not stayed in touch with the church, I always have recalled every word of Barry Smith and still do, It is always with me, and he has most definately sent a message to me worth more than any message in my life to date. I wish to thank Barry for this and his family for supporting him in his mission to do so, it is all worth while... for me via him, he has tatooed words of the lord in my heart for always.

i have only recently heard a message from mr barry smith, and read his(and of his) work very recently, and it only encourages me now to carry on from where he left of. Everything i have seen and read of him brings across his heart for the Lord very clearly, and i pray whatever i work at for the Lord in this world may be qualitive enough to reach into others lives, years after my death. God bless.

I am an Spanish pastor since some years ago in Madrid, Spain. My Wife, Conchi and myself, are so much greatful to Barry´s messages, as they helped us a lot in our ministry, specially in everything that has to do with scatholigy. So we have taught our people.

Thank you Barry. You never heard about us here, though you helped us so much. Soon we will met on the clouds, as the Lord Jesus is coming soon!

So sorry to hear about your sad loss. I first saw Barry at the Living Waters church in Durban, South Africa in the early 90's preaching about the end times. You couldn't fit another soul into that building if you tried. I remember that he entertained whilst he preached as he made the congregation laugh alot. An amusing moment came to mind when he said that he was preaching to a raucus congregation somewhere in Australia and a certain gentleman shouted to him " Strewth, Mr Smith, you sure have the gift of the gab." Well you know Barry had just about everyone rolling in the aisle that evening. I had the privelidge of meeting him and shaking his hand when the meeting came to a close. Barry was a true gentleman and a child of the Lord and will be sorely missed. God bless his family.

I first saw Ps.Barry speak on end times prophecy one month after my salvation in 1983 at AOG Sydney, now Hillsong City.
I came away motivated and excited, re-inforcing my decision that I'd done the right thing by giving my life to Jesus.
Many have come and gone and left indelible marks on my life, both good adn bad, but throughout all has been the message of love, acceptance, compassion, joy - all that's sourced in knowing the source of all. Jesus.
Ps.Barry died just after my pastor, Bill Beard in Wollongong. Not long after, my mother died - it seemed all those of early influence were leaving my life and I had a real shakeup.
Losses for you, losses for me, but remember the seed that falls to the earth, and we will benefit from it.
All the best to the Smith family, from us to you.
Rhoni, family and church.

From our family to yours:
Barry certainly left us in no doubt that our next move is to be with our beautiful Lord and Saviour. I praise God for a family that would give their lives for God's people to hear the Good News again and again and to be encouraged to follow Jesus trusting entirely in Him.

When we heard that Barry had gone home, at first there was shock, but then we remembered what Barry had been saying all along.

Everytime one of our family goes home to the Lord, my daughter says, "Hallelujah, another one through the goal." We praise God that he gives us time to repent and to lay our lives down for Him, before He calls us home.

Your family is an inspiration to the Christian community, and we love you for it.
Our sincere thanks for your music, tapes, books and preaching and for lending us your father and husband, so that we might learn to trust our Father as Barry did.

God bless you all,.

It was in 1993 that I first met Barry Smith in Kenya. His ministry was so unique and broad that every person was accomodated. it was while I was in England that I was told that he went to be with the Lord. As a brother it occured to me that if there was a person that I knew who spent his time in the right way it was no one else other than uncle Barry. He did it and we will carry the message as it was handed to us. When we mourn for him it will be with hope.
At last he had to hug his master as he longed.

Greetings Brother,
What a joy this is Andrew, to finally have some kind of contact with you and the family.. My older brother (NOA) had contacted me from Australia & told me what had happened with Uncle Barry..I had just left down under that year to the U.S & regreted not bringing any videos for my families to see...
Nevertheless, Our GOD has His timing..And to look up Uncle Barry's ministry once again at this time is really triping me out.. Especially now, living in the ghetto's of Bay area,California..The Holy Spirit draws my attention to the days we are now living..
But who else in ministry could i think of that draws attention, opens eyes, touches hearts & tells it how it is...But Uncle.
My youth group would stop playin with church and be real with GOD..I am now looking at investing in videos & books to help my church & the "Tongan" people.. You already know how that is..
I dont think we've ever met Andrew, but my family knew mum & dad from AOG Garden City,Brisbane.. My mother (Lesila) & sister (Loloahi) send thier love Faye & family, its been awesome writing to you guys..Hope we can carry on from where Barry left off...
love you guys.....

I have had the privilege of watching some of the End times videos that your Father made in Cardiff with our home group.
We were challenged and entertained . What a man of God and he was so funny.
I know that the Lord was there to give him a big hug as he was welcomed into Heaven. He had such a gift to make people laugh through his observations of people and situations.

Thanks Barry, and thank the LORD for the words He gave to Barry. Barry spoke in words that us that are not university graduates can understand, a rare thing in Bible teaching.
he will be missed... but his teachings will live on thanks to his books. i had the pleasure of meeting barry as a newly born-again and will never forget him, or his words.

Dear Smith and Capell families,

We were on the Doulos in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Christmas / New Year 2001 / 2002 visiting with our daughter Marian. It was our great privilege to enjoy fellowship with you all, and to sit under Barry's ministry through which we were greatly blessed.

It was not until last month when watching Howard Conder's programme (church without walls) when he showed a recording of an interview with Barry, that we learned of his untimely passing. I ordered some of his books immediately and am enjoying them now in Hanoi, Vietnam where I am working for a year.

We send our love and condolences to you all, and hope to meet up with you again some time.

Barry is a prophet from God. First heard him in 1988 by video; then met him in London.

He is still with us as his message. We salute him. He truelly gave us the message he got from Jesus and fully accomplished his mission.

Enjoy your next leg of your mission Barry - with the Lord.

My heart truly goes out to Barry's family. I had the pleasure of meeting Barry at Miles COC in Queensland Australia, and it was such a priviledge and an honor for us all! I normally did not go to "speakings" like that, but luckily it was once that I felt inspired to go. And how grateful I am that I did, and that I had the wonderful opportunity to purchase a couple of his books (which he even autographed for me). I just wish now that I had bought the entire set, as I would truly love to be able to read them all, to be able to relay true and accurate information to other people across the world that I speak with through the internet.
Barry was indeed filled with the Spirit of God, and the spirit flowed through Barry. Barry had such a beautiful way of blessing so many lives on this earth. This man was as much of a man of God as ANYONE could ever be!!
As humble as he was, he was on fire with the Holy Spirit. He was able to speak where he could be understood, and he spoke it the way it WAS and IS TO COME. I urge anyone that has "stumbled" onto this forum that never ever heard of Barry Smith to get every book you can find that he had published and read them while you can. They are better than ANY novel, mystery or romance or history book ever.
Barry was able to fulfill so many of his dreams and passions... of saving thousands of lives, by bringing them to the Lord. He was a great leader, and I hope and pray that his family will continue to carry out his dreams for him.
And as he told me, one place he really WANTED to visit was Kentucky, one of the few places he had never been (where I am originally from) and I feel there was a deep reason for him wanting to go there. Another place that needs to be reached.
May God continue to bless you more and more each day, and to give you more strength and courage to carry out the legacy of Barry. Barry will continue to live in our hearts.

With Sincere Sympathy,
J. Murray

Dear May and family

I will always remember and cherish the time when you and Barry opened your beautiful home up to 40 of us 'God Chasers'. Especially considering you were only expecting 15 of us! (yup Barry gave our church a good ribbing over that one!)

I can testify that you and Barry definatly walked the talk in the way you welcomed all forty of us.
The hospitality you both showed us blew me away.

Barry was an awesome teacher and preacher who will continue to impact people for Christ!
He has definatly written the vision and made it plain. Now thats an awesome legacy.

May the Lord Strenghthen and bless you and keep you and your family safe.

Love
