Have just turned to Barry smith's web site and am shocked to learn that he passed away. Receice my condolences.I knew Pastor Barry through the media and later he did visit Nairobi Kenya (my country). He talked about the new world order, particulary on privatization and democratization.Later on there was a wave of freedom cry across Africa. My country Kenya, became a multiparty state and alot of companies have been privatised. God was using Berry to open up Christian across the globe and see what the Lord was planning to do.Am Happy he is with the Lord and we'll see him soon. May the Lord bless his wife and children. 1 thessalonians 5:1-8&18.

First and foremost, I would like to send my condolences to the Smith family.

I was saddend to here about Barry Smith's death. I was led to Christ during one of his meetings in Nairobi, Kenya and I'm always grateful for that.

I thank God that, though it is sad that he is no longer with us, he is with the Lord Jesus Christ, and because of that at least we will see him again.

barry was a wonderful man of GOD throuhg his wonderful ministry i learnt alot that i then in turn could go out and share with others. through Barry's teaching i have come to understand the Bible more clearly and i know more clearly about end time events!
Barry's ministry has been a big help to me in my walk with GOd and if it wasn't for Him and his minsitry i wouldn't know what to say to people when they ask me certain question about God!
it is sad that the world has lost a wonderful evangelist but itis wonderful that Barry is now with our Saviour Jesus Christ which he so loved and closely followed after!

I have tapes of Barry speaking in Iowa back in 2nd of March 1991... I watch these tapes often and also enjoy having people over to watch them to see how much has come to be since then..I would like to say that when I read that Barry is no longer on this earth my heart rejoiced because I know that God has called him home. And surely Barry's work here was complete. All my love goes out to all those that got to hear God's message through Barry....

I greatly appreciated Barry's ministry and hope that the Lord will pass on the mantle to another. The world still needs to be confronted by an uncompromising message from an uncompromising man of God, Barry was all of these.

My cousin told me that Barry Smith had passed away but we didn't want to believe it was true until we found out for sure. Now, we are shocked and saddened that this world has lost such a wonderful human being and amazing man of God.
At the same time, we are comforted in the knowledge that he has gone to be with Jesus, so we should celebrate that fact. Our condolences to the Smith family. We have been blessed by having Barry in our lives and will miss him.

I didn't know about Barry Smith until last week, when a sister in Christ lent me a video to watch.
I really enjoy the way he presented it, and now, by visiting your website I noticed that he is gone to be with the Lord! We all are part of the same body, therefore I had tears for him as well!
May the LORD keeps blessing the family members of Barry Smith as well as this ministry.

The world lost a bright and shining light when Barry Smith (The Rai Valley Bear) went home to be with the Lord. When I heard about it, I went and bought a bottle of sangria and a pack of american spirit blues (cigarettes), both of which I had quit for some time. I sat under a big cedar tree, and smoked and drank till I was all cried out. Then I quit again the next day. One thing I'm pretty sure of. His daughter, Debbie Smith, was there to meet him on the other side, and I'd be willing to bet he got that hug from Jesus too, that he used to talk about. I hope that someone will write a book of Barry Smith jokes. They were always clean and funnier than heck. I pray for his wife May, and his remaining children, and grandchildren, that they are joyful and prospering as I know Barry would want them to. May God bless you brothers and sisters in New Zealand, and keep you strong in Christ, to endure to the end. Love to all in Jesus Christ. Your brother, Peter

I am saddened to hear of Barry's death. I had no idea until today. His ministry is always with me and I thank God for making it possible for Barry to reach and minister to so many millions of people. He is home.

God Bless all the Smith family.

The impact of Barry's life globally cannot be fathomed by earthly minds. Only eternity will reveal how God used him to awaken the Church from its slumber.

May the faithful God He served be with the family that remains and the flock. Like the Nelons song says, "Christans never say goodbye, they only move to a home on high." God comfort you all.
