Dear May and family,
I can remember at one of Barry's meetings in Birmingham, where there had been much singing and laughter, and a real atmosphere of love and being being a part of something special, the friend that accompanied me said "I wonder if this is what heaven will be like?"
Barry gave us a glimpse of heaven and made the Bible "come alive" for me.
(Do you think right now, the angels are laughing with him and joining in a round of "Who can beat me at dominoes?!")
I also went to see him in Norwich, getting there an hour or so before the meeting began and managed to collar him with a question as he was preparing! He gave me his singular, undivided attention for which I was most grateful. He also sent me a personal, hand written letter all the way from New Zealand, after I'd written asking for advice. I think, if anything, I was expecting maybe a reply in the Omega Times, but no, this busy man of God took the time to write in person.
What a man, what a gift, what an example to us all.

Dear May, Andrew and Family,
The news of Barry's passing has shocked us immensely. I must thank the Lord Jesus Christ that the world was given such a wonderful gift in Barry Smith. It is easy to see and understand that Barry was a God appointed man for our time and has many similarities to the apostle Paul in as far as his travels, sometimes living under persecution but most of all for his love of the Lord and the endurance to do His work. Although i have not met Barry or his Family personally my spirit testifies that his message was and is of great importance and significance to this our generation.
Well done good and faithful servant! And i am sure for all of us still waiting for our day to be with the Lord the advice Barry would give us is to pick up the ball where he left it and run with it.
Always finish at the cross. I can hear Barry now........ "To as many as recieved Him, to them gave He power to become the Sons of God." John 1:12 (Emphasis added).
Thanks Barry and Family, you really have helped us and the world get closer to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Love in Christ for eternity,
Warren, Ruth, Madeline and Nicole Smith.

I have learnt so much from Barry Smith and through his ministry my life has been blessed. His ministry will continue to bless many through his books and videos. It's so wonderful for him that he is now with Jesus who he so obviously loved and served with all his heart. Thank you God for giving us Barry Smith for a while and thank you for now taking him home.

To May & Family
Through Barry's Ministry, my wife and myself were saved in 1999 in Springwood QLD.
Our daughter Rebecca and her husband Michael were saved two years ago at Penshurst NSW.
On Barry's last visit a couple of months ago, our other daughter, Ruth and grandsons, Chris and Daniel, gave their lives to the Lord.
Our son, Chris, was saved through Barry's message on video along with his wife, Lee.
Well done faithful servant of the Lord, our family are all saved.
Our job is to carry on and follow Barry's example and lead as many as possible to the Lord.
We will miss you, but will see you again, maybe soon.
Your Rock & Roll Friends
John & Pamela Stead from Albion Park, NSW.

To the family,
Our prayers are with you at this time. We saw Barry speak in Winsford UK last Friday (21st June), it is a number of years since we last saw him but he was as funny and forthright as ever. He spoke a lot about his family, and there is no doubt that he will be greatly missed. But, he also preached the Gospel fearlessly and what a legacy he leaves behind in souls saved for His and our Lord!

Dear Andrew, Sakia and family,
The staff here at Hillsong Church (formerly Sydney Christian Life Centre) were saddened by the news of the passing of Barry.
Your whole family left a deposit in our church many years ago and are remembered for preaching and teaching straight forward, understandable truth and personally for warmth, sincerity, humour and fun.
Barry will be shining the doorknobs on his mansion in heaven right now.
May the Lord help you all with your grief and living life without him.
You his children will carry on his name and he will be forever honoured and remembered
Love Carol Simister (nee Harper)

To May and family we wish to send our love at this time of sorrow. There is no doubt Barry is with Jesus right now but those left here are that much sadder for the loss of such an amazing man of God.
He was a man of God because He used God's Word and walked the walk, not just talked it. We saw Barry several times over many years and He was always interesting, informative and passionate about God and his own role of communicating to folks God's ultimate plan for us all. His sense of humour and his no nonsense approach is something we'll treasure in these days of wishy washy christianity. See you on the other side, mate.

Dear May, Andrew Becky& Rach,
We in South Africa (Fred & Wendy)(Elijah Ministries in SA) offer our prayers to you and your family at the sad loss of Barry.
We know he is with the Lord and we will see him again at the trump 1Thes 4 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
God Bless

Dear May and Family,
We all have fond memories when you and Barry came to our Church (Grace Family Church) at Greenbank in Brisbane. You may recall we put up two large tents(Seated 1000 people) on our 61/2 acres that had just been cleared and even though it got very cold at the night meetings Barry relished the environment as he told me it brought back fond memories as he loved tent meetings. Barry won the hearts of many people at those meetings especially the one's that gave their hearts to the Lord.
Barry was loved and respected by thousands of people all around the world and he has been responsible for many people coming to know the Saviour he loved so passionately.
I am sure he is being welcomed by those that have gone before him like his old Bible class leader Sel Cunningham (my father in law) and his old friend Fred Mercer (my uncle).
Our prayers and love are with you all at this time.
Love Brian & Margaret Baillie

We're just an Aussie Christian family that have enjoyed and been inspired by Barry Smith's Ministry for many years, when we caught him in our area on the Queensland Sunshine Coast or whenever I received your Omega Times, we have been Blessed, challenged and kept alert by the balanced teachings. He will be so missed by thousands, and yet we're a little jealous as we think of him chatting away to Jesus right now....
We're praying for the family's loss as we continue to wait for Jesus return....
Thanks so much for Blessing our lives.....

Thanks Barry, man of integrity, truth, joy and such faith, passion and commitment that you have been and will continue to be an inspiration to the Body of Christ especially in NZ.You have been so steady like a Dad to so many of us who have come out of your ministry.
And thanks May and children for sharing him with us over the years because it must have meant you had so much less of his time.
Barry so many believers in NZ will miss your comforting presence ..like a big redwood tree planted in a craggy place always stretching your arms upwards to our beloved Saviour and exhorting us do the same.

So many more faces will reach the loving arms of Jesus because Barry was so willing, for so long to carry out the Mission he had been called to. We know the Lord will be comforting you May and all the family in your loss, but take comfort in knowing that so many people around the world are praying for your special portion of "God's Shalom"
